How will I carry the CreateAthon torch and spread the word?

CreateAthon is such a great experience it will be no problem to spread the torch of awesomeness. Already i have been getting my friends interested into CreateAthon. Hoping that they will become team leaders or team members next year. I will also bring the spirt of createathon to my work and career trying to get my future creative advertising companies trying to bring createathon to them. I feel the need to work with non profits has sparked inside of me. If is an amazing experience to help them out. Seeing how excited and happy they where for all the work that we had doen is an just an awesome feel good experience that i want to try to achieve again and agin by working with createathon and non profits in the future.

Things I would change about CreateAthon to make it better

Interesting topic this time dont want to make anyone mad. No but really CreateAthon was amazingly great and there was not many problems but there was a few. I would like to see a few things change to see that it goes easier for the next run of team leaders. Communication there are some communication break downs sometimes i was unaware who to talk to or who was the best person to get certain advice for. The Go Team i dont feel as if there role was clearly defied and i think they where to far separated from the team leaders. I was still finding out that people where on the go team at the end of the semester. These are the main things i would change about CreateAthon there needs to be a little bit more of communication there needs to be a hierarchy of go to people for help on certain things.

Reflection on field trip to Carter Printing

Field trips are always fun and this one was no different. Carter printing press was an awesome place. I am always excited to see how things are made or how they work. I got to do both this time.

Seeing every step of my print deliverables get made was awesome. There is a lot more that goes into printing then i realized. They had to make different metal sheets one for each of the four colors CMYK. The printing process took along time and had a lot more work put into it then i would of thought. Getting to see all of the the actual print was awesome they have some of the largest printers on the east coast. Everything was extremely loud and smelled really weird. All in all it was a great experience and an awesome field trip.

What I Learned About The Way i Work

During CreateAthon i was given the chance to work with and around a lot of different people and work ethics. Seeing all these different work styles gives me insight into my own work ethic and the way i actually work. Talking about your own work ethic makes me feel as if i am in an interview process or something and that i have to impress someone.

The way i work is low key and sorta slow. At first i like to do research look at my product or client and just take in everything not really thinking about any ads yet. With CreateAthon i let my team feel out our clients and give me there thoughts on the client and how we could help them. After that i worked on with them on each part of our campaign.

So what did i learn about the way i work? Well for starters i work better in groups it lets me know its time to stop procrastinating and start working. I also learned that i need to take breaks and that taking breaks was very helpful. In the end i found out a lot about how i work and this will help me fix all my little bad habbits.

What I learned About Working With Clients

Working With Clients is the toughest and most rewarding part of createaton. There are some crazy clients out. One of my favorite tumblers just has ridicules client stories on it Clients From Hell. Just go there for some good old luls.

Clients can ask for really annoytings things. One client asked if we could install internet into there building. Sometimes they just dont understand what we are there to do. Other times they will dissagree with you on things even thought they have no clue what they are talking about. These are the bad clients.

There are also good clients out there also they are amazing giving you everything you need and helping you in any way then can. Such as giving you insight helping you on your site visits just making things easier in General giving you everything you need to make awsome work.

So working with clients really boils down to how your client is. They can make it a great experience or a horriable experince.

Why Createathon is good for Students everywhere

Createathon is an amazing experience that everyone should try one time in there life. Working with a group of people for twenty four hours straight is really fun you find out a lot about your self and you group mates. Working for a real client is an just wonderful. Putting in a bunch of work for twenty four hours straight making all these things that look cool and help your non profit then you get to give it to them and they are blown away by how awesome your work is. Working with a real brief is some really good experience that you may not always get in your class. Any one can do createathon does not matter your major there is some way you can help out. Seeing all the different students working towards the same goal is really fun. You get to make connections with other students, teachers and mentors that could help you down the road.

Collaboration: the good, the bad & the ugly

This is how i feel when i first think about Collaboration.

This how i act when i am in charge.

This is what happens when i have a good team.

But Really Collaboration is very interesting its tough. Working with other people can be a pain or really easy it just counts on your team members. For me i am shy so it takes some time for me to get comfortable with my team. But once i am conformable i work really well with other people. I am good at understanding what other people say. I work well off other peoples ideas taking bad ideas and turning them in to better ideas.

Collaboration can also be very ugly. I have had my fair share of ugly collaboration work but learned how to get through it. All in all you have to learn how to work with others bring them up and not put them down. A good leader or partner can bring the best out of you not the worst.

Being in advertising we are constantly working in groups. So everyone better get use to it i over the years have learned how to be a good partner and a good leader so really i have no problems with Collaboration anymore i have learned to deal with the good, the bad & the ugly.

CreateAthon AfterMath!

It has been five days since CreateAthon and i think that my sleep schedule is finally back to normal. CreateAthon was an amazing experience. i had so much fun staying up all night and making great work for my non-profit.

My BIggest Take Aways From CreateAthon.

-Leading a team is tough, but if you make your team happy and don’t piss them off they will do great work.

-Don’t Try to do everything on your own you have a team for a reason.

-Have fun you can’t make good work if you’re stressing the whole time.

-Find Help when you need it.

-Take Breaks to Goof off. You Can’t Just work for hours and hours without breaks you will drain yourself.

-It’s all about the non Profit. Really no matter what happens during CreateAthon you always have to remember your making work for a great non profit who could not get this level of advertising any other way.

The best moment for me was when we reveled our work to the client. We had so much work for them they where just in shock by all the work. They were only expecting one video and we gave the tons and tons of work. They were just so happy with everything.

I had an Amazing Team Consisting of Sam Roots, Jon Angot, Brennan Wyatt, Travis Hall and Swetha “SWAG” Gavirneni. With out them i would not have been able to produce all this work

Again No words can describe the feeling of sleep deprived happiness i had while presenting to our wonderful non-profit Sportable.

The difference my client makes

-My Client Helps Individuals with physical disabilities in many different ways it helps keep them physically fit. Gives them a community of peers where they may not have this originally might not have. It shows them that not matter what there physical disability then can still achieve there goals. It also gives them mentors to help them as they grow.

-Without My Client These individuals would not have the above mentioned opportunities.
